As the year 2020 came to a close, health and fitness app usage saw significant trends across Europe. Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look into the performance of the top five fitness and weight loss programs on the unified platform, which includes both iOS and Android data.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike continued to sprint ahead in the fourth quarter, with weekly revenue peaking at nearly $500K in the last week of December. Downloads for the app soared to over 250K in the same period, while the weekly active users (WAUs) reached a high of approximately 4.2M, indicating a strong end-of-year engagement.

The calorie-counting giant MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter also maintained a steady performance. While weekly revenue appeared to slightly decrease, ending at around $260K in December, the app's downloads showed a dramatic increase to approximately 140K during the same time. The WAUs showed some fluctuation, dipping to around 2.4M before jumping to over 3.2M by year-end.

Freeletics: Workouts & Fitness exhibited a consistent revenue stream, with a notable spike to over $400K in the last week of December. Downloads for the app doubled from early in the quarter to 131K, and WAUs increased significantly to over 890K, showcasing a robust growth in user base.

YAZIO Calorie Counter & Diet saw a remarkable jump in revenue, from around $238K to over $650K in the final week of December. Downloads also surged from 163K to an impressive 455K, accompanied by an increase in WAUs from approximately 2.5M to over 3.1M, marking a strong finish for the app in 2020.

Lastly, Courtney Black Fitness, despite being a newer entrant, showed promising traction with its revenue reaching nearly $194K and downloads peaking at over 8K in the last week of December. However, data on WAUs was not provided.
